Nutrition Program Expands to Three More Households

News 27 June 2026 3 min read By Women Pillar
Our food security work has grown to include three additional households, with community garden training and starter seed packs delivered this month.

Under Pillar 2 of our strategy — Food Security & Rights Advocacy — we have expanded the nutrition and sustainable livelihoods program to three more households this month.

What each household receives

Every household joining the program receives a starter pack of seeds and basic tools, along with hands-on training in kitchen gardening: how to build a sack garden in a small space, how to compost, and which drought-tolerant vegetables do best in local conditions.

From relief to independence

Emergency food support keeps a family going this month. A productive garden changes what next year looks like. We run both, deliberately, and we aim to move households from the first towards the second.

Training continues

Follow-up visits are scheduled monthly for the first year. Households in the program also join a savings group, which builds a small buffer against the medical bills and emergencies that so often undo progress.
