Meet the Team Behind the Children’s Home

Success Stories 13 July 2026 4 min read By Women Pillar
Behind every child in our care is a team of caregivers, cooks, teachers and volunteers who make our children’s home feel like an actual home.

Our children’s home runs on people, not programs. Here is a look at the team who make it work every day.

The caregivers

Our caregivers are the constant presence in the children’s lives — waking them for school, sitting with them over homework, and noticing when something is wrong long before anybody says so out loud. Consistency is the whole point: children who have already lost stability need to know who will be there tomorrow.

The kitchen

Three meals a day, every day, for a full house. Our kitchen team plans around nutrition and around what the children will actually eat, which are not always the same thing.

Education support

Homework supervision, remedial classes and liaison with schools. Many of the children arrive having missed months or years of schooling, and catching up requires patient, individual attention.

Our volunteers

Volunteers bring skills we could never afford to hire — teaching, medical clinics, sports, music and repairs. Every volunteer who spends time with children completes our screening and induction first.
